About The Position

The Initial Electrical Testing Supervisor/ QA Support is responsible for performing incoming electrical inspections and diagnostic testing on motors, generators, rotors, stators, and related electrical equipment. The position supports the Quality Assurance team by ensuring equipment condition is accurately documented, testing is completed in accordance with company procedures and industry standards, and repair recommendations are supported by reliable data.

Requirements

  • Perform incoming electrical inspections and diagnostic testing on motors, generators, rotors, stators, and related electrical equipment.
  • Perform initial electrical testing on incoming motors, generators, and rotating equipment.
  • Conduct and document testing including: Insulation Resistance (Megger), Polarization Index (PI), Winding Resistance, Surge Comparison Testing, Hi-Pot Testing, Core Loss Testing, Rotor Testing, Continuity Testing.
  • Verify equipment condition and identify potential electrical defects.
  • Review test data for completeness and accuracy.
  • Assist QA personnel with defect identification and failure investigations.
  • Support root cause analysis efforts by providing accurate testing records.
  • Ensure compliance with company quality procedures and customer requirements.
  • Verify test results meet applicable acceptance criteria.
  • Support QA personnel with initial inspection reports and final reports.
  • Record all testing data in approved databases, travelers, and reporting systems.
  • Attach supporting documents, photographs, and inspection notes to repair records.
  • Generate preliminary condition reports and repair recommendations.
  • Maintain traceable records of inspections and testing activities.
  • Provide technical feedback to project managers, estimators, and repair personnel.
  • Communicate abnormal findings that may affect repair scope or customer quotations.
  • Support production teams with test interpretation and troubleshooting assistance.
  • Assist with verification testing following repair activities when required.
  • Maintain testing instruments in proper working condition.
  • Verify calibration status of testing equipment prior to use.
  • Report damaged or out-of-calibration equipment to QA leadership.
  • Follow all equipment maintenance and storage procedures.
  • Follow all electrical safety procedures including NFPA 70E requirements.
  • Utilize proper PPE during all testing activities.
  • Perform testing in accordance with lockout/tagout and energized work practices.
  • Maintain a safe and organized work area.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in an electric motor repair facility.
  • Knowledge of EASA AR100, IEEE, NEMA, and ISO quality standards.
  • Familiarity with Baker AWA, Megger, surge testers, and vibration analysis tools.
  • Understanding of motor failure analysis and repair processes.
