EVIO Aircraft is pioneering the next generation of sustainable regional aviation. We are designing a revolutionary aircraft that integrates cutting-edge aerodynamics with an advanced hybrid-electric propulsion architecture delivering a step change in efficiency, performance, and environmental impact. Our mission is to transform regional air travel through innovative engineering, uncompromising safety, and bold environmental stewardship. We are seeking a Senior Advanced Design Engineer to be part of a dynamic team responsible for leading the activities in the design of EVIO’s 810 regional aircraft. This role offers an excellent opportunity to be part of this exciting new product by bringing his design experience in supporting the different design phase up to certification and sustainment and contribute to our efforts in this exciting and challenging endeavor. Reporting to the Head of Structures & Design, the Senior Advanced Design Engineer will use his/her strong track record of experience and be an integral part of an engineering team capable of developing an advanced groundbreaking sustainable airplane concept. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys both technical development and problem-solving in a dynamic, fast-paced working environment. We are seeking an individual with strong technical skills and familiar with civilian compliance regulations for Part 25 aircraft (FAA/TCCA). The candidate must show a successful track record in modeling concepts, refining them, auditing, and capturing design release processes and methods for various applications using both metallic and advanced composite materials. This is a high impact position with influence across technical execution, program strategy, and supplier collaboration.

Requirements

  • 10- 15+ years in aerospace within an aircraft OEM or equivalent environment, with a strong foundation in aerospace engineering principles and aircraft designs, including aerodynamics, propulsion, materials, and certification of Part 23/25 aircraft.
  • Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., CATIA V5, 3Dexperience, NX) and familiarity with simulation tools (e.g., ANSYS, MATLAB, NASTRAN).
  • Strong experience in materials (metallic and composite) and manufacturing techniques that supports the best approach for design to manufacturing.
  • Strong advanced surface modeling for conceptual layouts capabilities.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically and creatively.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills.
  • Enthusiasm for learning and a proactive attitude towards tackling engineering challenges.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a focus on delivering high-quality results.
  • Knowledge of industry standards and regulations (e.g., FAA, TCCA, EASA).
  • Proven ability to perform and participate actively in high performing engineering teams.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to rally the team and drive execution under ambitious timelines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to influence across levels and communicate complex concepts to technical and non‑technical audiences.
  • Advanced degree in aerospace or aeronautical engineering (or equivalent professional experience).

  • Published technical papers and presented them in a professional society and named as inventor on patent awards.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development of conceptual and preliminary aircraft designs focused on structural architectures, interfaces, surfacing and systems integration.
  • Use his/her knowledge and experience to play an integral part in performing design lay outs for sizing for a variety of configurations and trade studies for primary and secondary structures.
  • Participate and lead design reviews and contribute to the continuous improvement of design processes and methodologies.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure design feasibility, manufacturability and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Establish best practices, workflows, and modeling standards for the structures and systems teams.
  • Prepare technical reports, presentations, and documentation to communicate design concepts and progress to the EVIO team.
  • Ability to schedule tasks and provide status to upper-level management using the latest project tools.
  • Embrace challenges in a high performing engineering team and foster in a culture of innovation, ownership, technical rigor, and collaborative problem solving.
  • Recognized as a key technical representative in program reviews, customer interactions, supplier engagements, and technical panels ensuring our engineering solutions align with broader company goals and mission.
  • Collaborate deeply with Aerodynamics, Propulsion Integration, Energy Storage, Avionics, and Systems Engineering to ensure a unified technical approach toward aircraft performance development.
  • Contribute to engineering standards, technical reviews, configuration control, and certification planning for structure and systems related aspects of Part 25/33 compliance.
