About The Position

Your next challenge as a Component Engineering Specialist: Your daily life: Select mechanical and electronic equipment used for naval platform control systems Coordinate with suppliers on the development of equipment adapted to naval environments Coordinate with software and hardware teams to define equipment requirements Stay at the forefront of technological advancements in marine control systems Prepare test procedures and reports for environmental qualification testing of equipment Review customer specifications to develop traceable system requirements Review environmental requirements for naval programs Provide support for obsolescence management for in-service programs

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Computer Engineering
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in naval or aerospace engineering
  • Experience with military or industrial environmental qualification standards or specifications (e.g., MIL-STD-901, MIL-STD-187A)
  • Experience in integration and testing of computer systems
  • Knowledge of computer system design
  • Demonstrate strong interpersonal and teamwork skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Demonstrate analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Knowledge of the English language, in addition to French, is required due to contractual requirements
  • Be eligible for registration in the Controlled Goods Program
  • Be eligible for obtaining and maintaining the Canadian government's Reliability Status and Level II (SECRET) Security Clearance
  • Must be able to meet the requirements of US International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR)

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of maritime classification society standards (e.g., Lloyd's Register, DNV) is an asset
