About The Position

In your role as an Avionics Systems DAD, you will be responsible for performing various tasks related to the development, testing, certification, production, and in-service support of Avionics Systems of state-of-the-art business aircraft.

Requirements

  • You hold a university degree in Electrical, Electronics, Software, Aerospace Engineering or equivalent.
  • You are familiar with and have a working relationship with TCCA, EASA or FAA.
  • You are knowledgeable with civil airworthiness FAR Part 25 avionics regulations and industry advisory material including RTCA and ARP documents for applicable TCCA, EASA and FAA avionics certification requirements.
  • You have extensive working experience with system design, test and certification requirements of aircraft auto flight, communication, navigation including FMS, indicating/recording systems, onboard maintenance systems, etc.
  • Knowledge and/or Experience in Integrated Modular Avionics (IMA) systems.
  • You are familiar with the industry standards DO-178, DO-160, DO-254, ARP4754 and ARP4761.
  • You have strong communication skills (verbal and written).
  • You have excellent problem-solving skills, work planning structure and prioritization.
  • You can work well in a team environment.
  • You are willing to travel.

Nice To Haves

  • Current or candidate-for DAD / DAR status preferred. (Has met the requirements of Transport Canada AWM 505 "Delegation of Authority" 505.409).

Responsibilities

  • Be responsible and support the timely integration of systems, such as AFCS, Communication (VHF, HF, SATCOM, Datalink), Navigation (ADF, VOR, ILS, DME, TCAS, Transponder, IRS, GPS, FMS, Weather Radar), Displays (EFIS, EICAS, HUD, SVS), Information/Maintenance & Recording (IMS, OMS, Data load, CVR, FDR, AHMS), etc. on the aircraft.
  • Support the definition and management of the overall systems and subsystems requirements to ensure safety, certification & aircraft design requirements and objectives are met.
  • Work with the system suppliers as well as other interfacing suppliers and disciplines on the program to ensure the system is properly designed to be integrated smoothly on the aircraft and meet certification requirements.
  • Witness or participate in selected certification tests, inspections, and/or audits.
  • Review and Approve Compliance Reports on behalf of SOGECLAIR in accordance with approved Certification Plans.
  • Ensure aircraft avionics airworthiness is maintained per required regulations, regulatory standards, and guidance material.
  • Approve and recommend Certification Plans on behalf of SOGECLAIR to secure regulatory authority acceptance of Means and Methods of Compliance and Level of Involvement.
  • Support the Final Assembly Line and In Service Aircrafts for any design related issues and bring them to closure.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of tools and processes as needed by the function to meet our organizational objectives.
