About The Position

You will support HVDC projects by developing and configuring simulation models using RSCAD and Hypersim while contributing to testing and validation activities. In this role, you will participate in Factory System Testing (FST), assist with the execution and review of test scenarios, and collaborate closely with engineering teams to align testing scope, setup, and execution. You will maintain test documentation, including configurations, procedures, and results, while supporting the continuous improvement of testing tools, processes, and methodologies. Through simulation, testing, and innovation, you will play an important role in verifying system performance, ensuring project quality, and supporting the delivery of reliable power transmission solutions.

Requirements

  • Must have valid work authorization permitting employment with Hitachi Energy in Canada.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Practical experience in electrical engineering, preferably involving power systems or high-voltage equipment.
  • Familiarity with real-time simulation platforms such as RTDS and OPAL-RT.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to understand complex systems from a broader engineering perspective.
  • Ability to work independently while effectively collaborating within cross-functional teams.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Fluency in English is required; proficiency in French is also required.
  • Willingness to travel up to 30% of the time.
