About The Position

Iridium CNC is a Quebec-based company specializing in the design of CNC equipment and custom industrial automation solutions for the manufacturing sector. In a growth context, the company is actively developing its robotics division and is looking for a professional who wishes to contribute to its evolution and influence. Reporting to the president, the Robotics Systems, Development, and Projects Engineer ensures the strategic and technical development of the robotics division. As an internal reference in automation, they contribute to the evolution of the solution offerings, assist clients in analyzing their needs, and manage the entire project execution cycle, from design to commissioning. In a growth context, they will also participate in structuring the division, implementing best practices, and developing the team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in automated production engineering, robotics engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or a related field.
  • Member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ).
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in industrial robotics, automation, or manufacturing systems integration, including technical project management.
  • Knowledge of PLC programming languages and Fanuc robots.
  • Proficiency in Fusion 360 and the Microsoft Office suite.
  • Excellent command of French and advanced functional English.
  • Ability to combine strategic vision, technical expertise, and innovation.
  • Autonomy, initiative, and ease in a growing and constantly evolving environment.
  • Interest in design, field work, and solving complex technical challenges.
  • Entrepreneurial spirit and ability to transform ideas into concrete solutions.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of metal and/or wood manufacturing and processing methods (important asset).
  • Knowledge of See Electrical (asset).

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the strategic and technical development of the robotics division and the evolution of the robotic solutions offered.
  • Conduct technological watch and recommend new applications in robotics and industrial automation.
  • Meet with clients, in collaboration with the president, to analyze their processes, needs, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Carry out feasibility studies and evaluate project risks, costs, and timelines.
  • Design, develop, and validate robotic cells and automated systems adapted to client needs.
  • Select appropriate robots, components, and technologies and develop innovative solutions to improve productivity and operational performance.
  • Assume the entire project execution cycle, from needs analysis to commissioning.
  • Plan projects and ensure follow-up of budgets, timelines, resources, deliverables, and quality standards.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing, automation, installation, and service teams to ensure project success.
  • Participate in client meetings, bid preparation, and technical presentations as a robotics expert.
  • Support clients before, during, and after system implementation.
  • Structure the robotics division by implementing standards, procedures, and best practices, while participating in the hiring and integration of future technical resources.

Benefits

  • Permanent full-time position (40 hours per week).
  • Salary between $110,000 and $130,000, depending on experience, plus a bonus program.
