Your role: Within the DORD (Operational Research & Development Directorate), you will act as an FEA Analyst Engineer to support the development of new products and test equipment. You will perform and develop numerical finite element analyses to validate the performance, robustness, and compliance of our tracks, track systems, and test equipment. In direct collaboration with design and development teams, you will conduct advanced simulations (linear & non-linear structural simulations, dynamic analyses, topological optimization analyses) while respecting the requirements of the specifications, Michelin's standards, and quality system.

Requirements

  • Hold a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Be a member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec.
  • Possess 2 to 5 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Be comfortable in a bilingual environment (French and English) to communicate orally and in writing with colleagues and international clients.
  • Have a good understanding of the fundamental principles of FEA.
  • Have a good understanding of the fundamental principles of linear and non-linear materials, solid mechanics, and fatigue mechanisms.
  • Demonstrate versatility in the face of a variety of products and models, as well as the ability to manage 3 to 4 projects concurrently.
  • Show rigor, attention to detail, and a concern for precision in analyses.
  • Exhibit critical thinking and judgment in interpreting analysis results.
  • Have a collaborative spirit and good interpersonal skills for debriefing with development teams.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of Ansys Workbench (major asset) and/or Abaqus (asset).

Responsibilities

  • Develop or modify finite element analyses of tracks and track systems, taking into account industrial constraints, the equipment manufacturer's (OE) specifications, or customer specifications, etc.
  • Prepare study summaries and formulate conclusions on the compliance of the solution(s) with the specifications (CdC).
  • Ensure that the developed solutions meet Michelin's performance, safety, and quality standards while applying industry best practices.
