About The Position

Haleon is currently seeking a Project Engineer to join the Montreal (Saint-Laurent) team. This role is responsible for overseeing and managing engineering projects within the manufacturing site. This role involves planning, coordinating, and executing projects aimed at improving manufacturing processes, increasing productivity, and ensuring product quality. It collaborates with multiple functions to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the required specifications. The Montreal plant is a manufacturing site for liquid, solid, and semi-solid health products, with complex regulatory factors, technical processes, and high-risk activities.

Requirements

  • Minimum education level: Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field.
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in engineering project management within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong leadership, project management, and organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of Lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and other process improvement methodologies.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing equipment and technologies.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.
  • Bilingualism French/English required
  • Proficiency in French is required for this position to ensure effective communication and compliance with our operational and regulatory standards.

  • Additional certifications in project management or process improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean Six Sigma certification).
  • In-depth experience in specific manufacturing or engineering fields.

  • Bilingualism required - Due to the nature of the job duties, candidates must be bilingual in French and English (written/spoken) to be considered, as in their role, the incumbent must work closely with external/internal stakeholders in other provinces/countries who do not speak French.

Responsibilities

  • Develop detailed project plans, including schedules, budgets, and resource allocations.
  • Define project scope, objectives, and deliverables in collaboration with stakeholders.
  • Monitor project progress, identify potential issues, and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Analyze current manufacturing processes to identify areas for improvement.
  • Implement Lean manufacturing principles and other process optimization techniques.
  • Develop and test new manufacturing methods and equipment to improve efficiency and quality.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including production, quality, maintenance, and supply chain.
  • Communicate project status, updates, and risks to stakeholders and management.
  • Prepare and present reports, documents, and technical drawings.
  • Ensure manufacturing processes comply with quality standards and regulations.
  • Conduct risk assessments and implement quality control measures.
  • Participate in root cause analysis and corrective actions for quality issues.
  • Source and manage relationships with suppliers and service providers.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement innovations to enhance efficiency and safety.
  • Prepare and manage project budgets, ensuring cost-effective solutions.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement cost-reduction initiatives.
  • Monitor and control project expenditures.
