About The Position

EBC goes off the beaten path and deploys all its know-how to carry out major infrastructure projects: bridges, roads, highways, tunnels, maritime facilities. Our ability to meet deadlines and budgets, as well as our vast expertise in the field, allow us to actively participate in large-scale projects such as the Samuel-De Champlain Bridge, the Réseau express métropolitain (REM), and Site C. Our major projects group is recognized for its large-scale achievements and its impact in local regions, while delivering projects in collaboration with our partners and clients. This position reports to the Project Director. The Project Engineer will actively collaborate in the submission and qualification of the company for important projects and may transition to the execution of projects previously submitted.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management.
  • 7 to 10 years of experience in construction, both in the field and at the submission level.
  • Experience on large-scale projects.
  • Experience in writing submissions.
  • Proficiency in French is mandatory and bilingualism is considered an asset.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access).
  • In-depth knowledge of all management software.
  • In-depth knowledge of MS Project and AutoCAD is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate on project estimation and submissions.
  • Assist the estimation team and determine the best strategies to meet qualifications/submissions.
  • Ensure the quality of the submission according to client requirements and company quality standards.
  • Plan and ensure the proper coordination of work with various stakeholders.
  • Plan, supervise, and participate in the development of appropriate construction methods and processes related to contractual requirements, while respecting current health and safety requirements.
  • Participate in meetings with clients, engineers, and project managers.
  • Assist, review, and communicate technical questions and change requests to the client representative and carry out necessary follow-ups.
  • Obtain the necessary permits and authorizations for the execution of the work.
  • Follow up (content validation) on shop drawings and other required contractual documents as needed.
  • Participate in the creation and updating of project schedules.
