About The Position

Oversee designing and process of all fiberglass infusion projects. The following are the duties and responsibilities of the Infusion Specialist: • Assist infusion/lamination leadership to coordinate manufacturing activities, train and assist employees in the performance of tasks as needed. • Act as an internal auditor and assist QA inspector to ensure accuracy and quality of the infusion/lamination process based on the designs. • Assist with mold inspection prior to production to make sure mold is correct compared to the designs. • Assist in supervising production activity and help coordinate with relevant departments including supervisors and managers. • Select precut fiberglass mats, cloth and wood bracing materials per production requirements. • Spray chopped fiberglass, resins and catalysts onto prepared molds or dies using pneumatic spray guns with chopper attachments - release air bubbles and smooth seams, using rollers when needed. • Mix catalysts into resins and saturate cloth and mats with mixtures using brushes. • Check completed products for conformity and modify discrepancies if detected. • Work overtime as needed. • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Basic mathematical skills
  • Must be able to speak, read, and write English
  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements include dust masks, gloves, safety glasses
  • Can work in a hot and humid non-climate-controlled environment
  • Ability to walk up and down a flight of stairs numerous times a day
  • Ability to work outside
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, noisy environment
  • Knowing chemicals, their dangers, safety procedures, mixing procedures and time limits
  • Ability to work both independently and as a team member
  • Follow safety and health standards – use of protective equipment as required
  • Ability to work 8+ hour day shifts (sitting, standing, bending and reaching) and moderate lifting up to 50 lbs.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior marine industry machining is a plus
  • Prefer knowledge with fiberglass and resin, spray painting, composites, marine material knowledge and marine experience.
