About The Position
Provides consistent leadership of nursing personnel and supports patient-focused collaborative care in a shared governance environment. Responsible for coordinating, facilitating and integrating the optimal provision of service on each unit. In conjunction with this, other responsibilities include providing clinical expertise, coaching/mentoring of staff, and customer service. Assumes responsibility for the nursing units when Clinical Managers are not present.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred
- Licensed to practice in the State of Michigan
- Two years' experience as RN Staff Nurse with demonstrated leadership required, preferably work experience concurrently in appropriate specialty area
- Ability to meet all behaviors of the RN Staff Nurse Job description
- Ongoing continuing education required
- Must maintain current nursing knowledge and BLS certification and required CEUs for licensure
- Chemotherapy certification is required or must be obtained within 6 months of hire
- Articulates and demonstrates commitment to the philosophy, values, mission and vision of MHP
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing
- National certification preferred
- Familiarity with hospital and department policies and procedures, accepted methods of requisitioning ancillary department service work and familiarity with the medical staff
Responsibilities
- Managing and tracking timecards, PTO, and schedules
- Completing yearly employee review and weekly check-ins with direct reports
- Reviewing positions and working with the manager to repost and hire applicable colleagues in the infusion center
- Assist in managing infusion clinic financials to maximize revenue and help control costs
- Collaborate with other departments to address infusion-related items that arise
- Work with manager to draft and revise policy and procedures for the infusion clinic
- Review clinic process and procedures to ensure that we are meeting all accreditation requirements
