About The Position

Metro Infectious Disease Consultants is seeking a Registered Nurse for supervision and administration of infusion therapy 4 days/week at the clinic located in Overland Park, KS. This position offers a schedule of 4 days/week, 32 hours/week (Monday-Wednesday, Friday; Thursdays off). Requirements

Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
Current KS RN license.
At least two years of RN office practice experience, preferably in an infusion-related practice.
Infusion experience.
Proof of current vaccinations, including recommended boosters, commonly required for those working with immunocompromised patients, including measles, mumps, rubella, varicella, hepatitis A & B, influenza, and COVID-19.

Nice To Haves

Chemo experience is preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

Place Peripheral Lines (peripherally inserted central catheter) lines for new patients.
Teach infusion patients how to self-administer medications.
Document patient care activities in the Medical Record.
Review and chart daily laboratory results, communicating findings to physicians and/or patients.
Eprescribe prescriptions as ordered by the doctor and communicate with pharmacies.
Receive and return patient and other telephone calls.
Review EMR charts for upcoming appointments, ordering necessary lab results, consult reports, or notes.
Ensure all required fields within EMR are documented for meaningful use eligibility.
Respond to telephone calls, meet patients in the office, and schedule appointments as needed.
Participate in quality assurance and educational activities.
Use clinical judgment to evaluate activities and prioritize patient care needs.
Monitor the safety and effectiveness of the environment and equipment.
Participate in activities that facilitate good interpersonal communication within the facility.
Support professional practice by adhering to Standards of Nursing Practice, JCAHO, state and local laws, and MIDC policy.
Perform other duties and tasks as assigned.
