About The Position

Vanderbilt University Medical Center (VUMC) is seeking an Infusion Registered Nurse for a PRN Outpatient position. Located in Nashville, Tennessee, VUMC is a leading institution dedicated to advancing health and wellness through patient care, education, and research. This role involves applying the nursing process to plan and implement patient care, including education and continuum of care planning. The nurse will effectively communicate patient information to the healthcare team, collaborate on patient goals, and evaluate progress. Professional growth is encouraged through continuous learning activities. This position operates Monday-Friday during day shifts with 10-hour shifts. A minimum of 2 shifts per month is required, with no nights, weekends, or holidays. The role emphasizes collaboration in care planning, coordination, and implementation, while anticipating patient needs. It involves analyzing patient information to determine nursing diagnoses and utilizing the nursing process to evaluate progress and ensure effective outcomes. Strategies to promote health and a safe environment are also key responsibilities. Additional duties may be assigned.

Requirements

  • LIC-Registered Nurse - Licensure-Others
  • Relevant Work Experience
  • Graduate of an approved discipline specific program
  • 1 year of experience

Responsibilities

  • Applies the nursing process to plan and implement the care of patients, including patient and family education and continuum of care planning.
  • Effectively communicates pertinent patient/family information to the health care team.
  • Collaborates in establishing patient goals and evaluates progress to ensure effective outcomes.
  • Furthers professional growth by engaging in learning activities according to the Board of Nursing standards.
  • Collaborates in establishing the plan of care, coordinates and implements care delivery while anticipating patient care needs across the continuum.
  • Analyzes comprehensive information pertinent to the patient's care and management to determine nursing diagnosis.
  • Continually utilizes the nursing process to evaluate patient's progress towards goals and applies appropriate interventions to ensure effective outcomes.
  • Employs strategies to promote health and a safe and healthy environment.
