About The Position

Arizona Arthritis & Rheumatology Associates, P.C. is the largest private Rheumatology practice in the United States, with over 60 providers, 15 sites, and over 400 employees. They are seeking an ambitious, friendly, positive, and compassionate Infusion Coordinator to join their Infusion Team. The Infusion Patient Coordinator serves as the primary patient liaison for the infusion department, coordinating patient care from initial consultation through ongoing treatment. This role is responsible for delivering an exceptional patient experience by managing scheduling, provider coordination, and treatment readiness.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for infusion patients.
  • Conduct infusion consultations and educate patients on the infusion process.
  • Explain treatment expectations, appointment requirements, and clinic procedures.
  • Build positive relationships with patients throughout their course of therapy.
  • Respond to patient inquiries and coordinate appropriate follow-up.
  • Schedule all new and established infusion and injection appointments.
  • Coordinate provider visits, laboratory appointments, and infusion treatments.
  • Maximize infusion chair utilization while maintaining safe scheduling practices.
  • Maintain treatment intervals according to provider orders.
  • Manage cancellations, reschedules, and waitlists to reduce treatment delays.
  • Coordinate urgent and same-week infusion requests.
  • Review future schedules to identify scheduling opportunities and capacity concerns.
  • Verify that all required documentation has been completed prior to scheduling treatment, including required laboratory clearance, clinical documentation, and financial clearance confirmation from Prior Authorization Coordinator.
  • Schedule patients only after treatment clearance has been received.
  • Support providers during infusion consultations.
  • Coordinate treatment plans with nursing staff.
  • Obtain missing provider documentation when necessary.
  • Communicate scheduling changes and treatment updates.
  • Escalate clinical concerns to licensed staff.
  • Manage infusion-related EHR messages.
  • Document patient communications.
  • Maintain scheduling documentation.
  • Update appointment notes and treatment information.
  • Route clinical questions appropriately.
