About The Position

Requirements

  • Licensed as Registered Nurse in the State of North Carolina.
  • BLS/CPR certification required.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in infusion therapy, oncology, or a related specialty desired.

Responsibilities

  • Administer prescribed intravenous (IV) medications, fluids, and treatments in accordance with established protocols and physician orders.
  • Monitor patients during infusions, assess for adverse reactions, and respond appropriately to ensure patient safety.
  • Perform venipuncture and maintain IV access with expertise and precision.
  • Educate patients and their families on treatment plans, medications, and potential side effects.
  • Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of all treatments and patient interactions in electronic medical records (EMR).
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurse practitioners, and other healthcare team members to develop and implement individualized care plans.
  • Follow infection control protocols and ensure a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for patients.
  • Manage inventory and prepare infusion supplies, ensuring equipment is maintained and functioning properly.
  • Stay current with best practices, protocols, and regulations related to infusion therapy.
  • Provide emotional support and address patient concerns with empathy and professionalism.
  • Participate in ongoing training.
  • Attend department meetings.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
