About The Position

Build your career with Sydney Trains as an Infrastructure Worker Traction, joining a skilled and supportive team that keeps one of Australia’s busiest rail networks moving safely and reliably. Due to growth within our Traction team, we have four new opportunities based at Clyde. These are project-based roles working across the Sydney Trains network, giving you the opportunity to work on a diverse range of projects throughout metropolitan Sydney, the Western regions, Newcastle and Wollongong. You'll join a well-established team where strong working relationships, shared knowledge and a genuine commitment to each other's safety underpin how we work, creating an environment where people support one another and take pride in delivering quality outcomes. Our Traction Construction team delivers major infrastructure projects across the Sydney Trains network, constructing, renewing and upgrading the overhead wiring and high voltage electrical systems that power rail services across New South Wales. We're looking for experienced lineworkers who know their trade and enjoy the construction lifestyle, working in diverse environments alongside highly skilled crews to deliver challenging and complex projects safely and to a high standard. From metropolitan Sydney to regional NSW, you'll help build critical rail infrastructure that will support the network for decades to come, providing the satisfaction of seeing the lasting impact of the work you deliver. Your home base will be Clyde, so while you can live anywhere from the Wollongong region through to Newcastle, you’ll need to be willing and able to travel to Clyde as required. This is more than your next job – it’s an opportunity to build a long-term career in rail. At Sydney Trains, we invest in our people. You’ll have opportunities to develop your technical skills, gain further training and qualifications supported by us, and continue progressing your career within a large and diverse organisation. You’ll work alongside experienced people who will support you as you learn the rail environment and expand on the skills you already have. You’ll also have the opportunity to work overtime, gain exposure to different projects and locations across the network, and become part of a team where safety, teamwork and looking out for one another are at the centre of how we work. Backed by a strong Enterprise Agreement, you'll benefit from attractive employment conditions, a range of allowances and benefits, and the opportunity to build a long-term career with Sydney Trains.
