Requirements

  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • 2–3 years of telecom/structured cabling experience (data center experience preferred).
  • OSHA10 preferred (must obtain within 90 days).
  • CPR/First Aid certification within 90 days.
  • Ability to listen carefully and follow instructions.
  • Solid teamwork skills with the willingness to learn and help others.
  • Knowledge of safe hand tool use (telecom and construction tools).
  • Ability to distinguish color for cable identification.
  • Dependable, punctual, and self-motivated with strong attention to detail.
  • Clear communication skills and fluency in English.
  • Reliable transportation and willingness to adapt to shifting project needs.

Nice To Haves

  • FOA or BICSI certifications are a strong plus.

Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain, service, and decommission structured cabling systems including copper, fiber, and other low voltage technologies.
  • Build and remove racks, cabinets, cable trays, and pathway systems inside active data center environments.
  • Interpret and follow design drawings, specifications, and manufacturer standards to ensure precise and compliant installations.
  • Follow all Company and customer safety policies to maintain an Accident-Free Everyday environment.
  • Maintain an organized, hazard free workspace while upholding industry best practices in quality and craftsmanship.
  • Comply with all customer site rules related to security, access, quality, and safety.
  • Assist and learn from senior technicians in structured cabling installation, testing, and commissioning.
  • Gain hands-on experience with fiber systems, labeling standards, routing, and testing tools.
  • Develop strong organizational habits with materials, tools, and cable management for best practices.
  • Work effectively in changing environments with a positive attitude and strong work ethic.
  • Support varied schedules including days, nights, or weekends as required.
  • Represent Black Box with professionalism, reliability, and excellent communication.
