About The Position

An Infrastructure Specialist: System Administration is responsible for providing 24/7 technical support for cloud-based solutions, ensuring seamless operations across various applications, DevOps, middleware, security, and infrastructure components. They play a critical role in building & setting up new development tools, infrastructure, and Networking, maintaining and deploying cloud applications. They also develop and configure infrastructure and configuration as code (Ansible and Terraform). They are experienced in administration of Dev, Test & Production environments hosted on Windows, Linux and Unix servers. Have strong knowledge of load balancing and CDN options provided by multiple cloud vendors (E.g., load balancer and Application Gateway in Azure). They are knowledgeable in installing and configuring MYSQL, MSSQL, PostgreSQL, and other databases. They ensure the systems are safe and secure against cybersecurity threats, besides identifying and fixing technical problems and installing software updates and fixes. They also support installing and maintaining a logging cluster using Logstash, Elasticsearch, and Kibana as a centralized solution to parse logs from application and Docker containers. The specialist can identify and resolve issues involving APIs, application services, IaaS, PaaS, SaaS, microservices, containers, Kubernetes nodes, ICP management, middleware components, network, security, and infrastructure problems. If unable to resolve an issue, they will escalate it to the appropriate support level. The specialist is proficient in cloud application architecture and can perform initial analysis on incidents. They manage Application ID and provide cloud elasticity by auto-scaling resources based on business requirements. Additionally, they ensure DR and manual redundancy failover capabilities. Regular service management reports are provided to keep clients informed. They are familiar with ITIL processes and Integrated Service Level Management.

Requirements

  • Device Provisioning: Set up, image, and configure new laptops and desktops with standardized software and security controls.
  • Hardware Lifecycle Management: Track inventory, handle repairs, upgrade components (RAM, storage), and retire old machines.
  • User & Access Management: Create and manage user accounts, password policies, and permissions via Active Directory or cloud identity providers.
  • Patch & Update Management: Deploy operating system updates, security patches, and application software packages remotely.
  • End-User Troubleshooting: Resolve escalated hardware, software, network connectivity, and printer issues.
  • Administration of Dev, Test & Production environments hosted on Windows, Linux and Unix servers.
