Infrastructure Product Manager

AtomsSan Francisco, CA
$224,000 - $284,000Onsite

About The Position

Atoms is seeking an experienced Infrastructure Product Manager to lead strategy for its internal infrastructure teams. The mission is to abstract the complexity of public cloud providers (like Azure) and on-prem deployments (Frontier AI Lab), enabling developers to move faster, ship more reliably, and operate at a lower cost. This role acts as a force multiplier for the engineering organization, overseeing a complex ecosystem that supports core compute primitives to in-house distributed systems.

Requirements

  • Technical Fluency: A strong preference for candidates with a background in engineering in the infrastructure space.
  • Scale Experience: Demonstrated success in product management at well-known, large-scale tech companies or high-growth infrastructure-focused startups.
  • Product Rigor: A background in translating technical requirements into high-impact features. Strong judgment in balancing roadmap ambitions with the operational health, stability, and maintainability of the platform.
  • Data-driven decision-making: Comfort with metrics such as SLOs, adoption, and cost efficiency, and a track record of using them to drive prioritization.
  • Bar Raiser Mentality: A desire to challenge the status quo, championing operational excellence, and pushing teams to innovate faster.
  • Communication across altitudes: The ability to go deep with engineers on architecture while also articulating the business value of infrastructure investments to executive stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Drive Product Strategy: Own the roadmap for internal services and platforms, including Core Compute (Kubernetes), Networking (Service Mesh/Istio), in-house storage primitives (Postgres, Redis/Valkey, Kafka, CRDB, etc.), DevEx/Observability/Costs platforms, Data and ML platforms, and Security Platform.
  • Champion Developer Velocity: Reduce friction by building and maintaining best-in-class developer experiences, including monorepo build systems and automated release pipelines.
  • Enforce Reliability: Define and implement reliability standards across the stack to ensure high uptime and system stability for groups operating on the infrastructure.
  • Optimize for Efficiency: Build and manage tools for cost attribution and optimization to ensure infrastructure scales efficiently with the business.
  • Pioneer New Domains: Spearhead infrastructure initiatives for high-growth areas.
  • Collaborate at Scale: Work closely with engineering leadership to align product development with long-term technical architecture.

Benefits

  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance (multiple plans, incl. HSA options).
  • Company-paid life and disability insurance (short- and long-term).
