Our Canadian operation, Canaccord Genuity Corp., is currently looking for a strong, motivated and experienced “all around” Infrastructure Engineer – Infrastructure Operation Group (IOG) to join our team and to take charge of the company’s IT infrastructure. We want you to use your skills and experience to improve the infrastructure until it’s running like a smooth-running machine. Requirements

  • 3–6 years of experience in Infrastructure or Systems Operations within an enterprise environment.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft 365 and Exchange Online administration, including mail flow, security, and troubleshooting.
  • Proven experience operating and maintaining SolarWinds monitoring platforms in a production environment.
  • Working knowledge of VMware vSphere administration, including VM provisioning, resource management, and troubleshooting.
  • Operational experience supporting Microsoft Azure services, including Virtual Machines and Storage Accounts.
  • Experience managing enterprise backup and recovery solutions, ensuring data protection, resiliency, and compliance.
  • Hands-on experience supporting Linux environments (Red Hat Enterprise Linux and Ubuntu), including system administration, patching, performance tuning, and troubleshooting.
  • Working knowledge of Linux fundamentals, including system services, user and permission management, networking, and package management (yum/dnf, apt).
  • Strong experience in troubleshooting, documentation, and cross-team communication, with the ability to resolve complex infrastructure issues efficiently.

Responsibilities

  • Administer and support Microsoft 365 / Exchange Online, including mail flow, connectors, and transport rules.
  • Manage shared mailboxes, distribution groups, and mail-enabled objects.
  • Support messaging-related escalations and perform mailbox audits (access, forwarding, usage).
  • Maintain and support email security configurations and controls.
  • Operate and maintain the SolarWinds & Azure monitoring platform.
  • Perform daily alert triage, health checks, and troubleshooting across servers, applications, network devices, VMware, and cloud environments.
  • Optimize alerting to reduce noise and improve detection accuracy.
  • Onboard new infrastructure into monitoring and provide reporting for operational and incident support.
  • Manage Azure Virtual Machines, including performance, availability, and lifecycle activities.
  • Support automation (e.g., start/stop scheduling) and operational tasks for Azure resources.
  • Monitor and maintain Azure Storage Accounts, including capacity and access validation.
  • Ensure Azure environments meet operational, compliance, and security standards.
  • Administer and support hypervisor environments (VMware vSphere, vCenter, ESXi/Hyper-V).
  • Manage virtual machine lifecycle activities (provisioning, resizing, migration, decommissioning).
  • Monitor host, cluster, and storage health, including capacity planning and optimization.
  • Support patching and lifecycle management of virtualization infrastructure.
  • Troubleshoot performance issues across compute, memory, storage, and virtualization layers.
  • Provide hands-on support for physical infrastructure and data center equipment when required.
  • Support enterprise backup platforms across virtual, physical, and cloud workloads.
  • Monitor backup jobs and ensure SLA compliance.
  • Assist with restore testing and recovery operations.
  • Validate backup configurations for retention, immutability, and security requirements.
  • Support backup-related audit and resiliency initiatives.
  • Assist with infrastructure security remediation and validation activities.
  • Manage certificate monitoring and renewals.
  • Support vulnerability remediation verification and configuration reviews.
  • Provide logs, monitoring data, and system context during security incidents.
  • Maintain operational documentation, procedures, and runbooks.
