Infrastructure Engineer Senior - Data and Automation (Red Hat OpenShift, Apache Spark, Apache Iceberg)

As a(n) Infrastructure Engineer Senior within PNC's Data and Automation organization, you will be based in [city/state location of position]. We are seeking a Software / DevOps Engineer with strong experience building containerized applications and automated delivery pipelines in environments that run on Red Hat OpenShift. This role focuses on using and deploying to OpenShift, not administering or supporting the OpenShift platform itself. You will work closely with platform teams while concentrating on application containerization, image creation, and CI/CD pipelines that deploy reliably into enterprise OpenShift environments. The ideal candidate understands how applications run on OpenShift, how to package them correctly, and how to integrate them into secure, automated delivery pipelines. Requirements
- Experience deploying or running applications on Red Hat OpenShift
- Strong experience with container image creation
- Strong experience with Spark, Trino, Airflow, and Iceberg
- Proven experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines
- Solid understanding of Kubernetes concepts from an application perspective
- Experience with Git and modern development workflows
- Experience with Helm or templated Kubernetes/OpenShift deployments
- Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills
- Bachelors degree
- 5+ years of industry-relevant experience

Responsibilities
- Provides expertise on platform engineering, while overseeing the team's effort and meeting customer needs.
- Uses technical knowledge and industry experience to design, build and maintain technology solutions.
- Develops software components and hardware for complex projects; aligns these with business strategies and objectives.
- Provides expertise on best practices, standards, engineering approaches and complex technical resolutions for processes.
- Places emphasis on quality improvement efforts; ensures that deliverables are secure, scalable and reliable through estimation and correction.
- Communicates with customers and integrates their needs with development, to meet business objectives.
