This job is responsible for infrastructure tool/service designs within technical domains in accordance with architectural governance, standards and policies. Key responsibilities include facilitating deployment of tools/services by leading others in solution development, maintenance of templates, playbooks and automation used during implementation. Job expectations include demonstrating expertise within technical domains, decomposing issues or objectives into work units, advancing efficient solution delivery practices, and promoting exceptional design, engineering and organizational practices. The network role supports Consumer, Market, and GCIB workloads and is instrumental in delivering key infrastructure initiatives, including ARC recovery and z16 server upgrades. Base activities supporting daily operations stability include software upgrades to maintain lifecycle currency, network health monitoring and 24x7 oncall incident response. It is imperative this role be filled to avoid initiative delay, software lifecycle and vulnerability patching non-compliance and platform instability.

Requirements

• 7 - 10 years of experience.
• Understanding of mainframe z/OS Communication Server concepts.
• Configuration and operational knowledge of TCP, UDP, ICMP, and SNA/APPN/Enterprise Extender communications.
• Experience designing networks and network resiliency/recovery.
• Knowledgable on configuration and use of encryption and certificates for network security.
• Problem solving skills using packet/sniffer traces, SMF log records and Splunk/Omegamon network performance monitors.
• Coding skills using REXX, Assembler and SAS languages.

Nice To Haves

• Familiarity with network hardware (routers, load balances, firewalls).
• Familiarity with Netview automation for network operations.

Responsibilities

• Confirms that application and business requirements have been translated into technical definitions, reference models, blueprints, and playbooks to guide development and integration of technology solutions
• Contributes to the creation/selection of functional and non-functional product evaluation requirements within and across domains
• Reviews and may develop software solutions to address manual and repeatable work or inefficient processes
• Reviews and guides the evaluation of reference models, blueprints, playbooks and the execution of on-site evaluations of third-party products being considered for firm adoption
• Mentors and assists Infrastructure resources on infrastructure service along with application integration validation methods and tools to ensure that technology solutions comply with enterprise system design and engineering standards
• Promotes an inclusive and healthy working environment and help to resolve organizational impediments/blockers
