About The Position

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a proven technology manager with experience in people management, robust technical understanding, and the drive to advance AWS Data Center Operations. The role involves creating sustainable processes and standards, and driving automation to reduce delivery cycle times and improve quality without impacting network availability. The team's mission is to deliver network and server capacity on time with zero rework. The Infrastructure Delivery Manager will manage the implementation and delivery of inbound capacity and equipment, oversee and develop a growing team, manage budgets, provide strategic direction, and propose technical solutions. This role is responsible for installing and delivering network equipment and related infrastructures, as well as driving low voltage structured cabling across the Amazon data center platform.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree or above
  • 4+ years of experience in a data center technology role and/or 4+ years of knowledge in TCP/IP networking, network cabling, fiber, optic types, and test equipment
  • 4+ years of experience in management/team lead function

Nice To Haves

  • 3+ years of data center engineering or operations experience
  • Experience with network hardware: copper and optical fiber cabling, switches, routers
  • Experience measuring key operational metrics (e.g., order cycle time, ship estimate accuracy, on-time and complete shipment, inventory record defect rate)
  • Experience representing your team or technical area to senior management
  • Experience contributing to the definition and implementation of automation opportunities within an operations environment
  • Experience managing multiple complex calendars, planning and organizing events of all sizes, and coordinating domestic and international travel, or experience with Microsoft Office products and applications

Responsibilities

  • Prioritize and assign tasks to data center technicians and operators, project management, coaching and creating documentation.
  • Manage inbound capacity from receiving through deployment stages.
  • Manage the installation network and cabling infrastructure in a data center environment.
  • Guide, train and educate staff on the best practices related to all service owner issues.
  • Manage tasks and deliverables across small to large-size projects.
  • Recommend, document, and oversee policies and procedures to meet industry best practices and to meet required SLAs.
  • Provide weekly report to the data center manager.
  • Coordinate team resources to support project and delivery needs, to include emergency projects, change management and maintenance window support, and potential off-hours and on-call needs.
  • Recruit and train data technicians to ensure appropriate staffing levels.
  • Host weekly staff meetings.
  • Drive compliance to Amazon performance management requirements.
