Infrastructure-as-a-Service Lead
About The Position
Fluidstack is seeking an Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) Lead to join their Data Center Operations Team. This role is crucial for delivering compute to customers by managing provisioning, isolation, and lifecycle across their fleet. The IaaS Lead will own the platform layer between bare metal and customer workloads, including images, networking, and storage integration. A key objective is to build self-service capabilities to reduce customer onboarding time from weeks to hours, and to set platform Service Level Objectives (SLOs) and corresponding engineering priorities. The team operates at a massive scale, managing power draw comparable to some countries and building sites that come online in pieces while maintaining live operations. This role requires writing new operational playbooks due to the unprecedented speed and scale of operations.
Requirements
- Led teams building IaaS or cloud platform layers.
- Designed multi-tenant isolation that customers trusted with real workloads.
- Cut onboarding or provisioning time by an order of magnitude somewhere, and can say how.
- Balance platform roadmap against operational load honestly.
