About The Position

This role involves leading a dynamic team responsible for building and maintaining critical networks that power global technology. The Infra Delivery Manager will drive operational excellence, optimize data center deployment strategies, and create seamless connectivity solutions for Amazon's technological ecosystem. AWS Infrastructure Services designs, plans, delivers, and operates all AWS global infrastructure, including data centers, servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment. The team works on challenging problems related to the supply chain and aims to deliver high standards for safety and security while providing infinite capacity at the lowest possible cost. The ideal candidate will have a technology background, understanding the complexities of Amazon data center network architecture, and experience operating in large-scale data centers or telecom networks. Strategic thinking is essential to align Infrastructure Delivery with business objectives. The manager will oversee technicians installing and building server rack capacity, focusing on customer experience and global innovation in Data Center Infrastructure. The position supports data centers in various operational stages and may require travel to established locations for training if assigned to a facility under development.

Requirements

  • Ability to travel to or commute between data center locations as needed
  • Willingness to temporarily work at alternative sites during training periods or until assigned facility is operational
  • Travel frequency will vary based on business needs and operational status of assigned facility
  • Candidates must be able to travel (over 50 miles) or commute (less than 50 miles) to active data center sites as required by business needs.
  • 2+ years of data center, critical environment, computer hardware repair, infrastructure cabling, network deployment, or data center operations experience
  • 2+ years of management/team lead function experience

Nice To Haves

  • certification in an applicable field like A+, Net+, Sec+, CCNA, LPIC, Linux+, AWS certification, or A+ or CND (Certified Network Defender) or Network+ or Security+
  • Experience conducting interviews and making effective hiring decisions
  • Work a flexible work schedule including evenings, overnights, and weekends
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional or military experience in an IT-related field (e.g. computer science, network engineering, etc.)
  • Experience with installing physical data center equipment such as copper/fiber cabling and racks
  • Understanding of networking infrastructure topology

Responsibilities

  • Managing and developing teams of technicians and engineers, providing both technical and leadership expertise and ensuring the highest levels of performance.
  • Delivering capacity to existing Data Centers
  • Helping build and bring online new Data Centers
  • Constantly improving all our processes and procedures.
  • Assisting & managing relationships with external vendors & contractors
  • Liaising with internal teams & management groups
  • Ensuring we adhere to and exceed local Health & Safety standards in all our Data Centers
  • Creating and maintaining metrics on all aspects of our Data Centers and utilizing those metrics to drive positive changes
  • Assisting in implementing service methodologies including incident management, problem management, change management, capacity management, etc.
