Job Summary The Information Technology Technician (ITT) provides technological and information system-oriented support. Because the Beck organization comprises diverse businesses, and because the IT requirements of those businesses are equally diverse, ITT may have specific areas of expertise and thus may be assigned specific duties. In the broad scope, however, the ITT is functionally responsible for the day-to-day operations in areas of IT, oversight of all corporate office and retail location Information System functions, and for safeguarding the assets of the company. He or she may also manage similar work for non - Beck entities. He or she plays a key role in enabling the Beck organization to operate efficiently by maintaining day to day Technology operations efficiently and smoothly. This position will have access to information that is confidential. It is the responsibility of the ITT to keep this information private from the public and from other individuals within the company. Duties and Responsibilities Communicates with the Director of Information Technology on assigned IT projects so that he or she has a good understanding of the nature and priority of the project. Follows the daily project schedule developed by the Director of Information Technology. Maintains the company’s IT systems hardware and platforms or ensures that necessary maintenance and upgrades are being done accordingly. Requires users to submit service requests through the company’s work order system so that all requests can be evaluated, prioritized, and assigned. Evaluate connectivity issues, equipment, and software. Set up equipment for new users. Ability to run ethernet cable and terminate. Provide technical support either by phone, remote access or site visits as needed. Act as a liaison between sites and internal IT support staff to assure accurate problem interpretation. Maintains friendly, cooperative relationships with other Beck personnel. Participates in safety programs as required by Beck procedures. In conjunction with the Director of Information Technology, assists the overall maintenance and upkeep of anything related to technology, information systems, or other projects deemed necessary to enhancing the company’s performance and profitability.
