About The Position

This position is located in Sacramento County in the city of Rancho Cordova. Individuals who are eligible for a Training and Development assignment may also be considered for this position. This position is primarily telework; however, onsite attendance may be required as needed. Under the general direction of the IT Manager I, the IT Supervisor II (IT Sup II) performs leadership and supervisory functions for the Communication and Application Support Team within the Incarcerated Population and Community Solutions Section. This position oversees the communications technology vendor and directs other projects related to incarcerated technology. The California Department of Corrections Rehabilitation (CDCR) Headquarters has implemented a new automated system to streamline the hiring process. The Human Resources Technology System (HRTS) is an intuitive, user-friendly system that provides the applicant access to real-time updates throughout the hiring process. HRTS will require new candidates to set up an account, which allows them to track their application's progress. Through their account portal, candidates will also be able to provide any additional information needed in the hiring process, including setting up interviews as needed. Requirements

  • You will find the Minimum Requirements in the Class Specification.
  • To obtain list eligibility for the Information Technology Supervisor II, before applying for the position, you must first take and pass the Information Technology Supervisor II exam.
  • Applicants who completed their education outside of the US (with foreign degrees/transcripts) must obtain and submit verification of U.S. course/degree equivalency.
  • Candidates new to CDCR/CCHCS are required to submit to a background investigation process utilizing Live Scan Fingerprinting, as well as a Tuberculosis test/evaluation prior to appointment, followed by department annual Tuberculosis testing/evaluation thereafter.
  • Completed applications and all required documents must be received or postmarked by the Final Filing Date in order to be considered.
  • Current version of the State Examination/Employment Application STD Form 678 (when not applying electronically), or the Electronic State Employment Application through your Applicant Account at www.CalCareers.ca.gov.   • Strong track record of holding vendors accountable to contract requirements through rigorous oversight.
  • Ability to act decisively during system outages or disruptions, coordinating vendor responses efficiently.
  • Demonstrated success in mitigating risks and ensuring compliance with federal and state mandates.
