About The Position

The Arc Erie County NY is seeking a dynamic and experienced IT Manager to analyze current systems and technology assets, recommend and implement technology solutions and upgrades, and provide training to staff across the organization. The IT Manager will analyze current systems and assets, recommend and implement solutions and upgrades, and provide training. Will have an immediate impact on the day-to-day efficiency of internal operations and overall growth of the department and organization.

Requirements

  • Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, and/or a related technical field PLUS two year of experience in the areas listed below.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering and/or a related technical field PLUS four years of experience in the areas listed below.
  • Associate’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering and/or a related technical field PLUS six years of experience in the areas listed below.
  • Possess a combination of experience in the following: Deep knowledge of operating systems, current equipment and technologies, enterprise backup and recovery procedures, and systems performance monitoring
  • Expertise in implementing, configuring, and testing IT solutions
  • Strong creative and analytical thinking are required.
  • Authorization to work in the United States

Nice To Haves

  • Professional IT Certifications, such as: Microsoft MCP, MCSA, or MCSE, Citrix CCEA or CCIA, SonicWall CSSA, ConnectWise CCPA, LabTech LTCP, Cisco CCNA, or VMware VCP preferred.
  • Supervisor experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze departmental needs to identify vulnerabilities and boost productivity, efficiency, and accuracy to inform business decisions
  • Ensure systems are maintained to the most current expected standard, or within allowable aging as defined by each category
  • Ensure network components work together seamlessly to meet business needs, using their full range of capabilities, and stay informed about new features and competitor solutions
  • Analyze processes, technologies, and vendors continually to find areas for improvement
  • Prepare cost–benefit analyses when upgrades are necessary, and monitor vendors to ensure that they’re offering the best-possible service and value for business needs
  • Train employees across the agency to use software and hardware; troubleshoot issues and provide technical support when needed
  • Develop and execute disaster planning and maintain data backups
  • Oversee team of IT Generalists to meet goals of department and ensure standard of uptime and availability.
  • Have a direct role and responsibility for the hiring, onboarding, discipline, and termination of IT Generalist team staff.
  • Define individual and team goals, ensuring everyone understands their roles and responsibilities.
  • Manage ticketing system to department level standards as defined on dashboards, working with direct reports to keep ticket sla’s in expected ranges
  • Overseeing and managing inventory of IT Assets and replenishing as budget allows and lifecycle dictates.
