You will also analyze modifications or enhancements to determine impact on existing production systems. Additional responsibilities include managing the design, development, implementation, documentation and maintenance of assigned program(s) or system(s) and ensuring both the business needs of the functional department and hospital goals are met. You will be responsible for quality control and ensuring the performance, integrity and reliability of program/system. Position Summary The Cardiology IT Manager provides technical and project management services for the full implementation life cycle, maintenance, and user support of information systems that support NYP’s clinical, corporate and technical operations across all hospital campuses and regional facilities. Responsible to safeguard the performance, integrity and reliability of the program/system. Supervises and mentors assigned staff to achieve all objectives of the program/system; shares the responsibility with other members of IT Leadership for the morale of their team. Essential Job Duties Maintains organization's effectiveness and efficiency by defining, delivering, and supporting strategic plans for implementing new and innovative information technologies. Provide technical leadership to ensure best development practices, user experience standards and security implementation strategies are followed. Advises and recommends state of the art enterprise architecture strategies, processes and methodologies. Apply strategic thinking to IT service management. The ultimate goal is to design, develop, and implement service management as both an organizational capability and a strategic asset. Provide overall direction and guidance, coordinate schedules and related project activities to ensure the work and documentation meet appropriate departments/service line standards. Collaborate with users and other IT departments to develop strategy and goals for team and department. Participate in key user committees to identify business requirements and recommend solutions which conform to organizational goals and regulatory guidelines. Develop innovative approaches for dealing with customer needs that are also aligned with overall information services goals and objectives. Defines and implements programming goals such as reuse and adaptability. Leads the team to gather and analyze business requirements, manage design, implementation and testing of applications. Present product specifications and delivery schedule clearly and concisely to individuals at all levels of an organization, including to executive management. Strategically collaborate with a cross-functional team including development resources, in order to solve problems effectively and quickly to deliver product. Manage competing priorities to keep the team on track to deliver high quality applications following an agile development methodology. Performs all duties inherent to managerial role. Participates in hiring, training, evaluation and termination of assigned staff according to hospital policies and procedures. Evaluates employee performance. Responsible for timekeeping of direct reports. Participate in go-lives and support as needed which may involve off-hour shifts. Provide off hours support as necessary. Accountable and responsible for supporting business critical applications and systems that operate 24/7/365. Performs other special projects and duties as assigned. This is a full time onsite position, hybrid role.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/related field or related work experience of at least 5-7 years.
  • At least 5 years of experience as a Technical Lead
  • Ability to conceptualize, plan, and implement projects as well as interact effectively with applications in complex problem situations
  • Strong communication, interpersonal and analytical skills to effectively collaborate, build relationships and manage change

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree
  • Clinical IT experience, preferably Cardiology IT
  • Revenue Cycle systems experience
  • Technical experience including programming, database queries, web servers
  • Compliant with Change Control policies, familiar with Ticketing systems, ability to manage communications associated with project roll outs.

  • Experience with IT architecture planning, software development methodologies and large scale integrated web systems implementations and upgrades in enterprise environment.
  • Deep and broad understanding of web and mobile technologies, such as Reporting/BI tools, Microsoft.NET, SharePoint 2013.
  • Knowledge of Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA), Web services, principles, and patterns at an enterprise-level as it relates to complex web and mobile applications.
  • Comfortable leading team using Agile SCRUM software development methodology.
  • Ability to conceptualize, plan, and implement projects as well as interact effectively with applications in complex problem situations.
  • Experience with selecting and managing external software vendors.
  • Applications: Cardiology IT applications such as ISCV, Syngo, Muse and others.
