About The Position

The IT Manager is responsible for overseeing the bank’s technology infrastructure, cybersecurity posture, and day-to-day IT operations to ensure secure, reliable, and compliant delivery of services. This role manages daily system performance and user support while supporting core banking systems and digital channels in alignment with regulatory requirements (e.g., FFIEC guidance, GLBA, and incident response standards). The IT Manager partners with executive leadership to align technology initiatives with the bank’s strategic, operational, and risk management objectives.

Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of banking systems (core, digital banking, payments) and IT infrastructure
  • Understanding of cybersecurity frameworks and regulatory expectations (FFIEC, GLBA)
  • Experience with vendor management and third-party risk oversight
  • Proven leadership, project management, and hands-on operational management capabilities
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to executives, auditors, and regulators

Responsibilities

  • Manage daily IT operations, including system monitoring, issue resolution, user support, and service desk activities
  • Ensure timely response to outages, service disruptions, and employee technology needs
  • Maintain system uptime, performance, and operational stability across all locations
  • Oversee core banking systems, networks, servers, and end-user computing environments
  • Ensure high availability, performance, and business continuity of all IT systems
  • Maintain and enhance the bank’s cybersecurity program, including monitoring, threat detection, and response
  • Administer controls aligned with FFIEC or similar frameworks
  • Lead incident response efforts, including regulatory notification within required timelines
  • Ensure compliance with GLBA, FFIEC guidance, and other applicable banking regulations
  • Support audits and examinations (internal, external, and regulatory)
  • Maintain IT policies, procedures, and documentation to examiner-ready standards
  • Oversee critical IT vendors, including core processors and fintech partners
  • Perform due diligence, contract reviews, and ongoing vendor monitoring
  • Manage and develop IT staff, including performance management and succession planning
  • Provide regular reporting to executive management and the Board on IT risks, incidents, and initiatives
  • Participate in IT steering committees and risk management processes
  • Lead technology initiatives that improve customer experience, operational efficiency, and data security from planning through deployment
  • Coordinate project teams and third-party vendors to ensure successful project execution
  • Develop and manage the IT budget, ensuring cost-effective solutions aligned with bank strategy
