About The Position

This internship offers a comprehensive experience in various aspects of Information Technology within the ECS Group of Companies. Interns will gain hands-on experience in networking, systems administration, service desk support, software development, application development, database development, DevOps, quality assurance, and business system analysis. The role involves participating in the full agile project lifecycle, from design and development to testing and deployment, while working with modern tools and technologies.

Requirements

  • Actively pursuing a degree in computer science, software engineering, information technology, or a related field.
  • 0 - 2 years of related experience.

Responsibilities

  • Perform basic networking tasks including device setup, wifi setup, and security.
  • Set up and manage virtual machines and perform systems administration.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve end-user computer software and hardware issues.
  • Develop knowledge of ECS applications and test hardware for user-friendliness.
  • Participate in the full agile project lifecycle, including designing, prototyping, developing, testing, and code reviews.
  • Create technical documentation for software usage, workflows, issues, features, and business requirements.
  • Implement custom business applications using current tools and technologies.
  • Review and refactor existing C# and JavaScript code.
  • Build cloud-native, web, and/or micro service architectures to integrate with internal and external services and REST APIs.
  • Develop modern user interfaces for optimal user experience and data reliability.
  • Model data for new or existing ECS applications to ensure efficient storage and retrieval.
  • Review and refactor existing SQL and C# Entity Framework code.
  • Develop Entity Framework models, stored procedures, or other queries for relational databases.
  • Create data visualizations and reports for ECS Applications, potentially including non-structured data.
  • Assist with script creation and maintenance for environment management and synchronization.
  • Create, configure, and maintain Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines.
  • Assist with development projects and operational activities such as security, deployment, and operations.
  • Write automated (Selenium) feature, integration, and regression tests in C#.
  • Create and/or execute automated and manual test cases.
  • Work with and familiarize yourself with Azure DevOps environment tests.
  • Develop business requirements that can be tested and translated into technical requirements.
  • Document requirements using user stories and flow diagrams.
  • Communicate with developers to gather level of effort estimates.
