About The Position
SimVentions is seeking an Information Technology Intern to support the build and operation of technology systems using the tools, technologies, and processes necessary for reliable and efficient technical environments. Interns will collaborate with experienced professionals to develop foundational skills in IT operations, system and network administration, cloud technologies, infrastructure automation, configuration management, and technical support. This 11-week paid internship program offers mentorship and practical assignments to strengthen troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities, providing exposure to real-world IT and DevSecOps environments. The program is designed for students to gain valuable experience and experience SimVentions' company culture.
Requirements
- Completed Freshman year of college by the start of the internship (must be a rising sophomore, junior, or senior).
- Enrolled in a relevant degree program such as systems engineering, software engineering, cybersecurity, computer science, or a related field.
- Strong interest in technology, innovation, and problem-solving.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced team environment.
- Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- A proactive, eager-to-learn attitude with a commitment to personal and professional growth.
- All candidates must be eligible to obtain a clearance.
Nice To Haves
- Previous experience or coursework in systems engineering, software development, or cybersecurity is a plus.
- Priority consideration will be given to returning interns and students pursuing degrees that align with our core technical areas.
Responsibilities
- Support the build and operation of technology systems with the tools, technologies, and processes used to support reliable and efficient technical environments.
- Collaborate with experienced professionals to build foundational skills in areas such as IT operations, system and network administration, cloud technologies, infrastructure automation, configuration management, and technical support.
- Participate in hands-on development, testing, and troubleshooting tasks within your assigned team.
- Assist with the creation, implementation, and validation of engineering models, simulations, or software applications.
- Contribute to the documentation of technical processes and findings.
- Participate in team meetings, provide updates, and receive mentorship from senior IT leaders.
- Learn and apply cutting-edge technologies and best practices.
- Conduct research and assist with the development of solutions to current technical challenges.
- Engage in various learning and networking activities, such as training sessions, workshops, and company-sponsored events.
