This position primarily functions within Special Access Programs (SAPs) supporting Department of Defense (DoD) agencies, such as HQ Air Force, Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD), and Military Compartments efforts. The role will provide day-to-day support for Collateral, Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI), and Special Access Program (SAP) activities. Responsibilities include establishing complex operational software configuration controls and system interfaces, maintaining file servers, firewalls, network access, Security Monitoring Systems, and system documentation. The specialist will analyze and troubleshoot system anomalies, prepare systems for operational use and support operational tests, and review/prepare/update authorization packages. They will notify customers of changes affecting authorization accreditation, conduct the cybersecurity portion of self-inspections, and provide technical and cybersecurity coordination on authorization package evidence. The role involves identifying vulnerabilities, implementing countermeasures, and ensuring information systems and network appliances are operated, maintained, and disposed of according to security policies. Additional duties include performing Video-Teleconferencing (VTC) System Administration, Scheduling, & Configuration, providing External Information System(s) Client Support, managing account creations/changes/deletions across multiple authorization boundaries, performing Help Desk & troubleshooting activities, and handling Hardware/Software System Configuration, upgrades, and modifications. The specialist will also perform system and network appliance patching, provide Government-Issued Laptop Support, assist in Media Control & Accountability, and manage COMSEC accounts/equipment.
