The IT/IA Specialist II works within Special Access Programs (SAPs) supporting Department of Defense (DoD) agencies, such as HQ Air Force, Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD), and Military Compartments efforts. This role provides day-to-day support for Collateral, Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI), and Special Access Program (SAP) activities. Responsibilities include establishing complex operational software configuration controls and system interfaces, maintaining file servers, firewalls, network access, Security Monitoring Systems, and system documentation. The specialist will analyze and troubleshoot system anomalies, prepare systems for operational use and support operational tests, and review and prepare authorization packages. They will notify customers of changes affecting accreditation, conduct cybersecurity self-inspections, and review evidence for authorization packages. Additionally, the role involves identifying vulnerabilities, implementing countermeasures, ensuring compliance with security policies for information systems and network appliances, and performing Video-Teleconferencing (VTC) system administration, scheduling, and configuration. Client support for external information systems, account management, help desk activities, hardware/software configuration and upgrades, system patching, government-issued laptop support, media control, and COMSEC management are also key functions.
