About The Position

This internship is more than a summer experience — offering mentorship, training, and meaningful, hands-on work that helps you build confidence, develop new skills, and take real steps toward your career goals. Developers are responsible for providing programming and support in the development and enhancement of information systems. They develop applications (writing, editing, and debugging) that provide effective solutions to address business problems. Developers work with many different tools and environments to manage code; and work with business analysts and end users to understand, test, and implement solutions. The developer participates in review and design sessions to plan projects; and are called on to provide training for IT and non-IT team members on the systems that are developed.

Requirements

  • Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in: Management Information Systems, Computer Science, or other related technical fields
  • Professional and diplomatic demeanor

  • Quickly grasps new concepts when faced with unfamiliar tasks

  • Applicants must be authorized to work lawfully in the U.S. for Textron Aviation at the time of making application, and visa sponsorship is not available for this position, including for F-1 students and J-1 exchange visitors who will need employment sponsorship.

  • Candidates must be able to work onsite for the entirety of the internship program unless approved otherwise by the hiring manager.

Responsibilities

  • Business data gathering and analysis
  • Application/Software design, development, modification, and implementation
  • Utilize multiple development methodologies including Agile, DevOps, CI/CD, etc.
  • Project management and status updates
  • Team interaction and collaboration on projects
  • Participate in developing business process improvements and troubleshooting issues
  • Internal functional interaction and support
