The Information Technology/Assurance (IT/IA) Specialist III primarily works within Special Access Programs (SAPs) supporting Department of Defense (DoD) agencies, such as HQ Air Force, Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD), and Military Compartments efforts. This position provides day-to-day support for Collateral, Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI), and Special Access Program (SAP) activities. Responsibilities include establishing complex operational software configuration controls and system interfaces, maintaining file servers, firewalls, network access, Security Monitoring Systems, and system documentation. The role involves analyzing and troubleshooting system anomalies, preparing systems for operational use and supporting operational tests, and reviewing/preparing/updating authorization packages. The specialist will notify customers of changes affecting authorization accreditation, conduct the cybersecurity portion of self-inspections, and review/provide technical and cybersecurity coordination on authorization package evidence. Additionally, the role involves identifying vulnerabilities, implementing countermeasures, and ensuring information systems and network appliances are operated, maintained, and disposed of according to security policies. Specific duties include Video-Teleconferencing (VTC) System Administration, Scheduling, & Configuration; External Information System Client Support; account management; Help Desk & troubleshooting; Hardware/Software System Configuration, upgrades, and modifications; system and network appliance patching; Government-Issued Laptop Support; Media Control & Accountability; and COMSEC account/equipment management.
