About The Position

The New Jersey Judiciary is seeking an IT professional for the Information Technology division in the Mercer Vicinage. This role offers a career in a fast-paced, cutting-edge environment, reporting to the Information Technology Assistant Division Manager (Court Executive 1b). The successful candidate will provide excellent customer service and technical support to staff, management, and judges, and lead projects to enhance technology solutions. Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor’s degree in a field related to computer science, information technology or the area to which the applicant is applying, such as information systems, human-computer interaction, interactive media, software engineering, computer networking, business analytics, data analytics and/or cybersecurity
  • One year of professional experience in analyzing, designing, programming, troubleshooting, resolving technical problems, testing, defining business requirements, training and/or installing computer systems applications OR planning, acquiring, installing and implementing telecommunications facilities and services, wide area networks, or local area networks OR generating and maintaining system software OR business analysis which may include defining and gathering business and functional requirements, analyzing and validating data and/or documenting test plans OR business analytics OR data analytics
  • Experience supporting the Windows 11 operating system in an enterprise environment
  • Experience supporting Microsoft Office applications including Office 365
  • Experience supporting Active Directory
  • Experience supporting Power Platform
  • Experience supporting SharePoint
  • Experience supporting Configuration Manager (MECM)
  • Experience supporting mobile device management platforms
  • Experience supporting Teams
  • Experience supporting Zoom
  • Basic understanding of printers
  • High speed home internet access (for remote work)
  • Must agree to a thorough background check that will include fingerprinting
  • Must establish, and then maintain, principal residence in the State of New Jersey within one year of hiring (New Jersey First Act)

Nice To Haves

  • Substitution: Applicants who do not possess the required education may substitute additional paraprofessional and/or professional IT technical experience on a year for year basis with one year of such experience being equal to 30 semester hour credits.
  • Substitution: A bachelor’s degree in any field from an accredited college or university and one year of additional paraprofessional and/or professional IT technical experience may be substituted for the required education.
  • Substitution: An associate degree from an accredited college or university, in a field related to computer science, information technology or the area to which the applicant is applying, such as information systems, human-computer interaction, interactive media, software engineering, computer networking, business analytics, data analytics and/or cybersecurity and two years of additional paraprofessional and/or professional IT technical experience may be substituted for the required education.
  • Substitution: An associate degree in any field from an accredited college or university and three years of additional paraprofessional and/or professional IT technical experience may be substituted for the required education.
  • Substitution: A master’s degree from an accredited college or university in a field related to computer science, information technology or the area to which the applicant is applying, such as information systems, human-computer interaction, interactive media, software engineering, computer networking, business analytics, data analytics and/or cybersecurity may be substituted for the required education.

Responsibilities

  • Planning, designing, and implementing technology rollouts that may require off-hours or weekend work
  • Performing server and user account administration including managing security for files and folders
  • Monitor and maintain the IT inventory system, ensuring accurate tracking of hardware assets, updating inventory records, and performing audits to verify asset locations and status
  • Configure and support wireless/mobile devices, for example, smartphones and tablets
  • Track support queues, answer incoming calls, and process IT requests to maintain prompt and effective technical support
  • Designing and implementing solutions using the Microsoft Power Platform
  • Utilizing Configuration Manager (MECM) for deploying software and imaging computers
  • Designing and supporting SharePoint sites
  • Analyzing and troubleshooting of hardware and software issues
  • Working knowledge of printer installation, configuration, and troubleshooting within an enterprise setting
  • Supporting technology within courtrooms
  • Providing technical support for virtual court events and meetings that utilize video conferencing
  • Developing and providing technology training and documentation to staff and judges
