About The Position

Amentum is seeking an Information Systems Watch Technician in the Arlington, VA area to maintain and support the customer's facility by ensuring telecommunications systems are fully functional and available for senior leader decision support teams. This position requires an active DoD TS/SCI security clearance adjudicated within the last 5 years or designated CE, with the ability to obtain and maintain special accesses. The role involves working 12-hour shifts on a rotational basis, including nights, weekends, and holidays, to support 24/7/365 operations. Successful candidates will receive specialized training. The position may require travel (5%) or response to alternate locations.

Requirements

Active DoD TS/SCI security clearance with adjudication within the last 5 years or designated CE.
Ability to obtain and maintain special accesses.
Three to Five (3-5) years of related experience or any equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.
Experience setting up and troubleshooting circuits and equipment.
Experience making, running, testing cables, performing loopbacks, and installing equipment.
Experience using VTC equipment.
CompTIA IT Security+ Certification must be obtained within 6 months.

Nice To Haves

Four (4) years of college in a related technical discipline plus Ten (10) years of related experience or any equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience as a Network and/or Systems Administrator.
Experience at an IT Help Desk / Customer Service Center.
Operational work experience in a military communications career field.
Understanding of mid-range computer hardware and software features.
Training experience - ability to adequately explain setup and troubleshooting processes of equipment.

Responsibilities

Responsible for availability, performance, and testing of operational mission capabilities including IT and RF based voice, video, data systems, networks, services, and information feeds.
Operate, maintain, test, analyze, troubleshoot, and restore communications systems and services.
Coordinate availability, performance, and restoration efforts with 3rd party service providers.
Apply knowledge and expertise to determine operational course of action and implement solutions under varying events and conditions, briefing customers on operational status.
Set up, operate, and train users on various voice, video, and data networks, including radio systems, satellite systems, network architecture, and distribution systems.
Make tactical decisions and take decisive action in stressed environments to ensure mission objectives are met.
Manage dynamic taskings and prioritize workload to meet customer expectations and demand levels under changing situational conditions.
Identify and recommend process improvements, efficiency gains, and innovative approaches to operations and service delivery.
Work with customers to determine operational requirements for future system capabilities.
Support the design, planning, and testing of new systems.
Ensure new systems are properly installed and brought on-line for operational use.
Coordinate installation team efforts to ensure schedules are met and activities do not disrupt ongoing operations.
Ensure proper configuration and change management control are applied and system documentation is current.
Participate in safety initiatives, including training, self-aid/buddy aid, emergency response, and safety committees.
Conform to the Amentum Quality Policy and carry out job activities in compliance with applicable Amentum Quality System documents and customer contracts.
Read, understand, and implement general and specific operational, safety, quality, and environmental requirements of all plans, procedures, and policies pertaining to the job.
