About The Position

Design, implement, and manage policies and procedures to ensure database and software security. Apply specific functional knowledge and working or general industry knowledge. Develop or contribute to solutions to a variety of problems of moderate scope and complexity. Work independently with some guidance. May review or guide activities of more junior employees. Serve as the primary POC and authority for all systems entering, exiting, moving, decommissioning, network distribution, and overall IT security within the facility. Manage the IT assets management program. Maintain inventories, bring new assets into accountability, review logs, and report discrepancies. Manage the equipment account. Implement the facility IT SOP to include system labeling, color schemes, and KVM policy. Perform security compliance continuous monitoring. Participate in security assessments and audits. Prepare and present technical reports. Contribute to the identification of root causes, the prioritization of threats, and recommend or implement corrective action. Manage COMSEC program. Serve as primary Cryptographic Responsible officer for the facility. Escort uncleared personnel as required. Perform other SAPF IA duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Experience as an information systems security specialist
  • Ability to implement and maintain security measures to protect networks and data and monitor systems to identify and respond to potential cyber threats or vulnerabilities, ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of mission-critical information
  • Ability to contribute to the development and deployment of program information security for assigned systems and facility to meet the program requirements, policies, standards, guidelines, and established local procedures
  • Ability to contribute to Risk Management Framework (RMF) processes and product maintenance for assigned systems, including VTCs
  • TS/SCI clearance
  • HS diploma or GED
  • Clearance: Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; TS/SCI clearance is required.
