About The Position

gTANGIBLE Corporation (gTC) is seeking an Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) I to provide support for Air Force (AF) Special Access Program (SAP) Security Support Services (SSS). This role assists the AF cognizant security authority in oversight of enhanced National Security Objectives supporting AF SAP interests through active and integrated security operations, processes, mechanisms, and management. The ISSO is responsible for ensuring the appropriate operational security posture is maintained for an information system, working closely with the ISSM and ISO. This position requires detailed knowledge and expertise to manage the security aspects of an information system, including physical and environmental protection, personnel security, incident handling, and security training and awareness. The primary function involves working within Special Access Programs (SAPs) supporting Department of Defense (DoD) agencies, providing day-to-day support for Collateral, Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI), and Special Access Program (SAP) activities.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree and 1-2 years of related experience or Associates degree and 3-5 years of related experience or 5-7 years of related experience without a degree.
Related experience especially in developing RMF packages or body of evidence.
Prior performance in roles such as System or Network Administrator.
Must meet position and certification requirements outlined in DoD Directive 8570.01-M for Information Assurance Technician Level I or Information Assurance Manager I within 6 months of the date of hire.
Must be able to regularly lift up to 50 lbs.

SAP experience desired.
Prior active duty in the U.S. Air Force a plus.

Responsibilities

Ensuring the appropriate operational security posture is maintained for an information system.
Working in close collaboration with the ISSM and ISO.
Managing the security aspects of an information system.
Overseeing physical and environmental protection, personnel security, incident handling, and security training and awareness.
Working in close coordination with the ISSM and ISO in monitoring the information system(s) and its environment of operation.
Developing and updating authorization documentation.
Implementing configuration management across authorization boundaries.
Assessing the security impact of changes and making recommendations to the ISSM.
Developing physical or logical topologies for a system.
Assisting the ISSM in meeting their duties and responsibilities.
Preparing, reviewing, and updating authorization packages.
Ensuring approved procedures are in place for clearing, sanitizing, and destroying various types of hardware and media.
Conducting periodic reviews of information systems to ensure compliance with the security authorization package.
Coordinating any changes or modifications to hardware, software, or firmware of a system with the ISSM and AO/DAO prior to the change.
Monitoring system recovery processes to ensure security features and procedures are properly restored and functioning correctly.
Ensuring all IS security-related documentation is current and accessible to properly authorized individuals.
Ensuring audit records are collected, reviewed, and documented (to include any anomalies).
Attending required technical and security training (e.g., operating system, networking, security management) relative to assigned duties.
Executing the cyber security portion of the self-inspection, to include providing security coordination and review of all system assessment plans.
Identifying cyber security vulnerabilities and assisting with the implementation of countermeasures.
Preparing reports on the status of security safeguards applied to computer systems.
Performing ISSO duties in support of in-house and external customers.
