Where Hard Stuff is Done Right!HII - Mission Technologies is currently seeking a SME Information System Security Manager (ISSM) to work out of Fairfax, VA in support of the DoD/DoW Advana War Data Platform designed to aggregate operational, intelligence, logistics, and sensor data from multiple domains, enable Joint All-Domain Command and Control (JADC2) by providing a common data fabric, and support AI/ML applications for predictive analytics, targeting, and mission planning. This position is contingent on contract award

Requirements

  • 15 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 13 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; 10 years relevant experience with PhD or Juris Doctorate in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 19 years relevant experience.
  • IAM II (ISC² CISSP, ISACA CISM, CompTIA CASP+ CE, or GIAC GSLC) certified
  • Must have an active Secret security clearance
  • US Citizenship

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with Advana architecture, Palantir Foundry, or similar data integration platforms
  • Experience with data governance frameworks and metadata management
  • Agile/SAFe delivery experience in secure environments

Responsibilities

  • Provides enterprise security program management for assigned information systems operating across classified and unclassified Department of Defense environments.
  • Directs Risk Management Framework execution through continuous authorization activities, maintaining System Security Plans, Security Assessment Reports, and Plans of Action and Milestones aligned with NIST security controls and Department policy.
  • Manages authorization packages within eMASS, coordinating assessment activities, control validation, and remediation tracking in collaboration with system owners, control assessors, and Authorizing Officials.
  • Leads portfolio-level security oversight, synchronizing assessment schedules, continuous monitoring outputs, and authorization maintenance across operational systems supporting Combatant Commands and Defense Agencies.
  • Reviews vulnerability findings, security scan results, and incident reports, translating technical risk into executive-ready decision artifacts and briefing materials.
  • Utilizes tools including eMASS, Xacta, Splunk, Tenable, Active Directory, and SharePoint to track control posture, remediation progress, and reporting requirements.
  • Coordinates cybersecurity assessments, penetration test support activities, and audit engagements, maintaining authoritative security documentation repositories and version control.
  • Facilitates governance forums, assessment out-briefs, and risk discussions with Senior Information Security Officers and mission leadership.
  • Delivers measurable improvements in authorization stability, remediation timeliness, and operational readiness while reinforcing program values of accountability, mission assurance, and information protection across enterprise systems supporting national defense objectives.
