The Role Palantir’s effectiveness in the US Government (USG) space depends on our ability to maintain secure, resilient, and compliant IT environments. As an Information Systems Security Engineer (ISSE) with a strong IT technical foundation, you will be responsible for both security management technical administration of our USG facilities. You will balance compliance requirements with functionality, ensuring our infrastructure is scalable, secure, and supports mission-critical DoD operations. Our ideal candidate combines deep expertise in Windows and Linux systems engineering with a strong understanding of government security frameworks, and is passionate about building secure, scalable, and user-friendly environments.

Requirements

  • Active US TOP SECRET security clearance.
  • Intermediate level foundational certification ISSM(722) (per DOD 8140), in 8570 this was known as IAM Level 2 certification.
  • Active Computing Environmental certification such as Linux+, CCNA, or other.
  • At least 1 years experience in a technical role (user support, technical compliance, system administration, etc.) at an accredited USG facility.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in relevant Windows administration tasks including AD, DNS, Group Policy, and SCCM/MDT.
  • Practical experience with automation tools, including Powershell and Python.

  • Willingness to travel up to 10% of the time preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Bridge engineering and compliance collaboration, delivering a holistic perspective to address both technical and regulatory requirements.
  • Scale our infrastructure by creatively implementing automated solutions.
  • Collaborate with your fellow ISSMs, Engineers, FSOs, and broader business stakeholders to provide consistent solutions to all of our facilities.
  • Integrate new hardware and software technologies into our USG infrastructure.
  • Manage relationships with upstream vendors and sponsors.
  • Apply STIGs/SRGs to operating systems and applications, ensuring compliance with DoD standards. Interface with auditors, appropriately articulating our security and compliance posture.
  • Manage our SIEM to build reports and visualizations to ensure monitoring, alerting, and auditing requirements are met.
  • Manage DoD cyber security tools such as Endpoint Security Solutions, ACAS, STIGs, and SCAP.
  • Understand end-user challenges and deliver secure, scalable solutions.
