Peraton’s Space Sector is seeking a seasoned Information Systems Security Engineer (ISSE) to join our diverse Information Assurance team supporting the Intelligence Community at our Herndon, VA office. The candidate will be expected to design and implement safety measures and controls, monitor network activity to identify vulnerable points, and address privacy breaches and malware threats. This role involves supporting Assessment and Authorization (A&A) processes and Information Assurance documentation for multiple analytic and mission systems across all CLINs. The ISSE will generate and maintain the complete security Body of Evidence (BoE) while leading A&A activities according to Risk Management Framework (RMF) processes (ICD 503, CNSSI-1253, NIST 800-37, NIST 800-53, etc.) for all multiple information systems. Additionally, the role includes authoring and maintaining the System Security Plan (SSP) within XACTA, developing Security Controls Traceability Matrices (SCTM), and Security Test Plan (STP) procedures within Xacta. The ISSE will analyze existing security systems, prepare reports and action plans for security breaches, monitor network status, and communicate system status and downtime to users. Experience working with software developers and architects to understand security requirements, guiding application developers on security policy, identifying security requirements, and providing technical guidance is crucial. The role also involves creating and managing the plan of action and milestones (POA&Ms), supporting continuous monitoring of operational systems, and performing log review/analysis using SIEM tools and vulnerability analysis using various tools. Experience with DISA STIGs and STIG Viewer is also required.
