About The Position

Captivation Software is seeking a mid-level Information Systems Security Engineer to assist with daily responsibilities on the program. The role supports information security, including security operations, risk assessment, system security configuration, documentation, authorization under the NIST Risk Management Framework, and security event monitoring and incident response using Splunk. The position is open to direct hires only; candidates from third-party staffing or recruiting firms will not be considered.

Requirements

• Must currently hold a Top Secret/SCI U.S. Government security clearance with a favorable Polygraph.
• Must be a U.S. citizen.
• Five years of experience as an ISSO on programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.
• Experience in at least one of these areas: current security tools; hardware/software security implementation; communication protocols; or encryption techniques/tools.
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Cybersecurity or a related discipline, or four additional years of ISSE experience in lieu of a bachelor’s degree.
• DoD 8570 compliance with IAT Level I or higher.

Responsibilities

• Support information security.
• Help create and enforce security policies and procedures, manage daily security operations, and maintain the system’s security posture.
• Assess security risks and solutions for critical information; manage security settings for software, hardware, and firmware; and review the security impact of system changes.
• Prepare and review security documents, including SSPs, risk assessments, C&A packages, and SRTMs.
• Support system authorization under the NIST Risk Management Framework (RMF).
• Use Splunk to monitor security events, analyze logs, and support incident response.
