About The Position

SAS Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) Team is a service organization responsible for providing IT support for our full spectrum of SAS Solutions to Infrastructure & Platform Services. Additionally, the Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) team works with other SAS IT teams to improve our service catalog offerings to our customers including helping to implement next generation technologies. As an Engineer in the SAS Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) team, you will use your communication and technical skills to support internal and external customers in our hosted & internal environment. You will help design, implement, and support a large heterogeneous computing environment. You will be responsible for helping to maintain Service Level Agreements and Operational Level Agreements, and improve the performance, reliability, and standardization of our hosted & internal solutions.

Requirements

  • Fluency in English.
  • Eligible to obtain Canadian government security clearance and maintain the clearance throughout their employment as they will work in a protected space.
  • 5+ years of Linux experience.
  • Colaborative team experience with superior problem-solving skills
  • Ability to triage requests with multiple admin resource groups
  • Understanding best practices around information security and data privacy in relation to system access and availability

Nice To Haves

  • Additional proficiency in French is strongly preferred and will be considered an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Provide end‑to‑end Linux support for hosted environments, including customer escalations.
  • Execute delivery requests, perform OS‑level configuration, attach storage, and apply system‑level tweaks.
  • Build, configure, and harden new Linux systems.
  • Install and configure required software packages.
  • Complete refresh cycles and lifecycle updates.
  • Apply patches, perform compliance updates, and maintain secure baselines.
  • Implement and validate network access controls.
  • Migrate physical and virtual systems to new Cary Linux environments and Microsoft Azure.
  • Retire instances and environments following internal standards.
  • Configure and manage external access endpoints.
  • Work with Compliance teams on CIS benchmarks, audit evidence, and regulated hosting requirements.
  • Integrate and automate services using Azure APIs.
  • Configure and manage deployments via Red Hat Satellite.
  • Work with VMware; Kubernetes and Docker experience is helpful but not required.
  • Deploy Linux systems in Microsoft Azure; AWS experience is a plus.
