The Metro Nashville Public Health Department is hiring a limited-term Information Systems Advisor 2 (Data Inventory and Workflow Assessment Lead). This position is funded by the Public Health Infrastructure Grant (PHIG) and funding will expire on 11/30/2027. The role will support the Health Department in modernizing its data collection, management, sharing, and usage practices. This role requires a combination of business process analysis, stakeholder engagement, data analysis, and technical fluency to document the current state, identify inefficiencies and risks, and develop practical recommendations for strengthening data management and supporting future modernization efforts. The goal of this work is to improve operational efficiency, reduce fragmented and manual processes, and make departmental data more accessible for reporting, analysis, and decision-making. After the assessment, this position will collaborate with ITS to support the implementation of approved recommendations within Metro’s enterprise data ecosystem, focusing on scalable and sustainable solutions that align with enterprise standards. This is a temporary, non-civil-service position, grant-funded through November 30, 2027.
