About The Position

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Information System Security Officer (ISSO) to join our cybersecurity team. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining the security posture of information systems, ensuring compliance with security policies, and managing risk through the implementation of robust security measures. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to oversee system security assessments, monitor for vulnerabilities, and respond to potential threats. The ideal candidate is passionate about protecting critical systems, thrives in a collaborative environment, and excels at balancing technical expertise with compliance requirements to safeguard organizational assets.

Requirements

• Proficiency in security frameworks like NIST RMF or ISO 27001
• Strong understanding of access control and authentication mechanisms
• Ability to manage and analyze security tools (e.g., SIEM, vulnerability scanners)
• Knowledge of incident response and reporting processes
• Familiarity with secure configuration management
• Strong documentation and report-writing abilities
• Full U.S. Citizenship

Nice To Haves

• Knowledge of cloud security practices (e.g., AWS, Azure)
• Familiarity with penetration testing results interpretation
• Experience in managing classified information systems
• Understanding of advanced threat detection techniques
• Knowledge of continuous monitoring tools and practices
• Expertise in implementing zero trust architecture principles

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain system security plans (SSPs)
• Perform regular risk assessments and audits
• Monitor compliance with security policies and procedures
• Oversee system vulnerability management and remediation efforts
• Ensure adherence to security frameworks and standards (e.g., NIST, RMF)
• Collaborate with teams to address security incidents and findings
