About The Position

The RTX Technology Research Center (RTRC) Government Security Compliance (GSC) team is seeking an Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) to support our team in East Hartford, Connecticut. The successful candidate will report directly to the Facility Security Officer and work closely with the Information Systems Security Manager (ISSM) in adherence with NIST Special Publications, customer directives, and company policies as well as applicable NISPOM Chapter 8, DAAG, and JSIG policies. We are looking for people with initiative, creativity, adaptability, strong written and verbal skills, strong analytical skills and attention to detail; creative troubleshooting skills; possess excellent judgment and professional maturity; have multi-tasking abilities and a client focus; and work effectively in a time sensitive and dynamic environment. While the role will begin as support for collateral classified only, it will develop into a Special Access Program (SAP) ISSO role as well with room for advancement.

Requirements

  • University Degree or minimum 5 years experience in Systems Administration, Systems Engineering, Security/Cybersecurity, Info-Tech/Networking, or Management role supporting classified programs or government regulated environment; or An Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years experience.
  • Current IAM Level I certification (Security+ or other).
  • Active US Government Security Clearance, SECRET level or higher.
  • U.S. citizenship is required.
  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date.

Nice To Haves

  • Active US Government TOP SECRET level security clearance.
  • Experience working in DoD classified operating and/or laboratory environments.
  • Experience with various information system security tools that address vulnerability analysis and mitigation (e.g., Splunk, Forcepoint, Ivanti, Tenable, ACAS, HBSS).
  • Familiarity with implementation of Government directives and policies derived from NIST, CNSSI, DoD, or other Government Regulatory compliance standards within a professional industry.
  • Experience in the execution of the Assessment & Authorization processes, as defined within the Risk Managed Framework (RMF).
  • Familiarity with large multi-facility networks including various complex components, including Windows and Linux environments.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Facility Security Officer and work closely with the Information Systems Security Manager (ISSM) in adherence with NIST Special Publications, customer directives, and company policies as well as applicable NISPOM Chapter 8, DAAG, and JSIG policies.
  • Develop into a Special Access Program (SAP) ISSO role.
  • Provide technical security consultation for complex, cross-domain, heterogeneous classified networked environments in collaboration with internal/external Customers, Information Technology (IT).
  • Interpret, implement, and assess DISA STIGs.
  • Manage cyber incident response; preservation, containment, and eradication.
