About The Position

General Dynamics Mission Systems has an immediate opening for an Information Assurance Security Professional. This position provides an opportunity to further advance the cutting-edge technology that supports some of our nation’s core defense/intelligence services and systems. General Dynamics Mission Systems employees work closely with esteemed customers to develop solutions that allow them to carry out high-stakes national security missions. The candidate will be designated as an Information System Security Manager (ISSM) supporting multiple Special Access Programs administering the Information Assurance (IA) Cyber duties for government customers. Components of the IA program include Assessment and Authorization (A&A) activities (i.e., documentation preparation, system configuration/validation, certification testing), security sustainment activities (i.e., hardware change management, software change management, account management, media protection, user interface, file transfers), conducting self-inspections, audit trail review, and delivering information systems security education and awareness. The candidate must be a self-starter capable of multitasking and efficiently managing their time in a dynamic environment while requiring minimal levels of supervision. Additionally, the candidate will possess effective written, speaking, analytical, organizational, and customer service skills that will assist them in identifying solutions to complex compliance and security problems. The ISSM will coordinate duties with the System Administrators and/or Information Technology (IT) staff to ensure all configuration requirements are implemented and functional. Providing security engineering and integration services to customers, you’ll develop and execute security controls, defenses and countermeasures to intercept and prevent internal or external attacks or attempts to infiltrate company email, data, e-commerce and web-based systems. You’ll also research attempted or successful efforts to compromise systems security and design countermeasures, maintain hardware, software and network firewalls and encryption protocols and administer security policies to control physical and virtual access to systems.

Requirements

  • Master's degree, plus a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related specialized area or equivalent relevant experience is required, plus a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience.
  • Department of Defense Secret security clearance is required at time of hire.
  • Ability to develop, test, debug and deploy code or processing routines that support security protocols for an established system or systems.
  • Ability to apply current computer science technologies to the design, development, evaluation, and integration of computer systems and networks to maintain system security.
  • Very strong knowledge of disaster recovery and continuity of operations plans.
  • Very strong knowledge of response and handling methodologies.
  • Very strong knowledge of resource management principles and techniques.
  • Very strong knowledge of server administration and systems engineering theories, concepts, and methods.
  • Very strong knowledge of system life cycle management principles, including software security and usability.
  • Very strong knowledge of information security program management and project management principles and techniques.
  • Very strong knowledge of network systems management principles, models, methods (e.g., end-to-end systems performance monitoring), and tools.
  • Very strong knowledge of security architecture concepts and enterprise architecture reference models.
  • Very strong knowledge of applicable business processes and operations of customer organizations.
  • Very strong knowledge of system software and organizational design standards, policies, and authorized approaches relating to system design.
  • U.S. citizenship is required.
