Holyoke High School Dean Campus seeks a Career Technical Education teacher for its Information Support Services and Networking Career Pathways program. This position will support the continued development of ISSN as a career pathway program, with the goal of becoming a full Chapter 74-approved program in the future. The instructor will teach students the knowledge, technical skills, professional expectations, safety practices, and workplace habits needed for success in information technology, computer support, networking, cybersecurity, cloud computing, systems administration, and related career pathways. The instructor will provide classroom, lab-based, and applied learning experiences aligned to the Massachusetts Information Support Services and Networking Standards and Skills, district curriculum expectations, industry-recognized credentials, and student needs. The ISSN framework includes safety and health in an IT environment, information technology development in society, help desk support, computer hardware, operating systems, laptops and mobile technology, fundamentals of networking, fundamentals of cybersecurity, cloud computing, basics of programming and development, servers, employability, entrepreneurship, and digital literacy. The instructor will work collaboratively with the existing Programming and Web Development program and staff to strengthen Dean Campus’s broader information technology pathway. This collaboration may include shared planning, aligned projects, credential preparation, cross-program enrichment, student recruitment, equipment planning, advisory board work, career-connected learning, and support for students exploring information technology careers across both programs. The instructor will develop lesson plans, maintain accurate records, demonstrate technical processes, guide student activities, support students in attaining required competencies, ensure safety protocols, and communicate regularly with students, families, school counselors, administrators, employers, and industry partners. The instructor will also collaborate with the CTE Director, Co-op Coordinator, Programming and Web Development staff, advisory board members, and community partners to support work-based learning opportunities, including job shadowing, internships, cooperative education placements when appropriate, and industry credential attainment.
